  • Well...   I know I'm not posting enough when both Seth and Grace's birthdays fit on the same screen.  However, last week was CRAZY!    Four trips to the doctor, three trips to Wal-Mart, three swimming classes, two gymnastics classes, several Tiger's games, a soccer game, a house to clean, a birthday, a portrait sitting, and a birthday party... and I was ready for Sunday night, let me tell ya...

Now, here's the long version of the story...  It all began with Monday morning...

Actually, truth told, Monday was normal... hehehe... As if we ever have a "normal" day!   Just a whole bunch of school for the kids and a trip to the Y to swim and play.  It was "safety week", so the kids pretty much floated around in life jackets the whole time.  Seth decided to swallow half of the deep end of the pool, which wasn't too much fun for him or mom, but other than that it was uneventful.

Tuesday began the never ending trips to the doctor, but by Tuesday afternoon, we were back in the swing of things...  just in time to fly through the school day and get Grace ready for gymnastics.  Afterward, I did some shopping at Wal-Mart, because there were a few things I had to pick up...

Wednesday I had my regularly scheduled OB appointment.  Nearly as soon as I walked through the door I realized that I hadn't remembered to drink the sugar drink for my glucose test.  So...  I muttered an explicative... hehehe...  No, I don't do that.  Actually, I said, "Oh, crud!"  I went on to explain to the receptionist... and then to the nurse... that I am an idiot, and they said I could come back later in the week to do the test!  No one seemed to want to deny the fact that I am an idiot, though...  Stopped for Little Caesars... and went on home to fly through another school day.

So...  Thursday I dropped Phil off for an orientation thing, and then I went back to the OB... wishing I could throw up all the way (those sugar drinks are awful)... with all three kids in tow.  When I walked through the door this time, I'm sure the receptionist thought I was nuts, because I had the whole gang trailing me.  So, the kids watched them draw Mommy's blood... in horror I might add... with their ears covered!  I guess they thought I was going to scream... which I didn't... even though I wanted to.   We couldn't stop for pizza this time, because it was too early in the morning, so we went to Wal-Mart... again... and shopped for Grace's party food.  Then we picked Phil up, went home, and guess what... flew through yet another day of homeschooling bliss.  Of course, that was just in time for Grace and me to rush off to gymnastics class #2.  Her class was hilarious, especially because her instructor didn't recognize her.  Grace is convinced that this is because she was wearing her purple leotard, instead of her black one...  After class, Grace and I realized that even after two trips to Wal-Mart in three days, we still didn't have what we needed, so we took trip #3.

Friday, I woke up nearly elated that we had decided to take the day off of school in honor of Grace's 5th birthday!  I cannot believe that my baby girl is five!  We went to have her pictures taken, which took WAY longer than it should have, but they will be cute when they come back!  Then we had lunch at McDs... one with a "Play-D-Place" of course, and headed back home to meet Grandma and Grandpa.  We did the present thing, and then hurried to get the Tiger's game on.  Actually, I only saw the game from the 8th inning on, because I was too busy tearing My Little Ponies out of their packaging and trying to figure out how to make the magic castle open right (which, in the end, Phil had to do for me...  I didn't realize it needed batteries).
Edit: Here are grace's Birthday Pics:
Saturday was Seth's second soccer game, so we all headed out in the freezing cold to watch him play.  Of course, it was picture day, too, so we will have plenty of pictures of wind blown kids in jackets!  Here's my "Super Goalie"... and a couple of Freezing fans:
After the game, we came home and prepared for the birthday party...  Which was great.  Actually, I think the adults may have had more fun than the kids... especially with the color pages and temporary tatoos.  Grace, the ever social one, had a blast.  She loves having friends!  Here's Grace with her Rainbow Cake:
As soon as the last guest departed, we turned on the TV again!  It's funny, because we try not to watch too much, but we are Tiger's obsessed right now.  Unfortunately, the game started a lot earlier than we thought it was scheduled for, so we missed most of it.  However, we did not miss the best part!  Go Tigers...  I can't believe we are going to the World Series!!!
When we finally headed off to bed, Caleb was sick... with a temp. of 102, so I took him to the ER a little before midnight (and, believe me, they hurried to get him registered before midnight... I'm thinking they make more money that way...)  He is fine now, and actually, he was fine then.  It is the first time I have ever taken a kid to the ER and had them look at me like I was crazy, because clearly he just had the sniffles...  Oh well...
Sunday I baked Zucchini bread... uh... 16 loaves of it to be exact!  You probably don't want to ask, but if you like Zucchini bread, I wouldn't mind sharing...

And yesterday was basically business as usual... well... minus the fact that Grace went to play at a friend's house by herself for the first time (a whole lot harder on mom than on Grace), and that I walked to the Y from my doctor appt., because I could... and I need the exercise...

And now it's Tuesday morning.  And now I need to do some school with the kiddos.  And then I need to gear up for gymnastics again.  And I'm wondering if this week isn't going to be just as crazy!

P.S.  I had a ton of awesome pics. to put in this post.  Unfortunately, xanga is being stupid, this morning, and I don't have all day to deal with it.  Check back later, because I might revise this with the pictures when I get a chance.  *Edit*  Obviously, I finally got the pics. in... yeah!

P.P.S. In all of that, I forgot to mention that we rearranged the whole house in preparation for baby.  I may never touch a piece of furniture again... but it does look nice!  L.
